A fragile sliver of light shines down through the black clouds of doom to find its way to the war-torn Emerald Empire. On the battle-weary fields of Rokugan, the Clans have finally realized their folly, but the realization may come too late. Each of the Clans must now gather their strength for an inevitable showdown with Yogo Junzo and his ancient master, the invincible Fu Leng.
But from the mountains, the Shintao monks bring their mysterious ways to the conflict, and from the south a mighty army of minor Clans, led by Yoritomo, the Mantis Champion arrives at Rokugan's shores. One force is driven solely by greed and the other is driven by an ancient prophecy.
