As the Dragon wield their fire and the Phoenix lift their spells to the wind, so, too, must we.
The time for peace has passed. Destruction threatens the Empire at the hands of the Celestial Heavens and of a creature of Darkness such as we have never known.
The Doji and the Daidoji have ended their war with courage and honor. The Kakita have come from their fallen palaces and stood their ground to defend our lands with their lives. Can we, the youngest of Lady Doji's children, do any less?
Tamako does not agree with me, but I will raise my hands against those who would destroy us. I will follow in the footsteps of Asahina Tomo and the others who gave their lives for peace. I will listen to my clan, and I will be there when it fights to save the Empire from the Goju and from the Shadow. You cannot stop me, but you can march at my side and see that the samurai of the Crane come safely home.
If the Empire is to be safe, then we must not fear. We must seize the world by the throat and force it to its knees.
Only then can we know peace.
