Lion Clan Letter - #17

Grave news.

Matsu Domotai has been taken by the Tsuno.

My brother has defended the Hall of Ancestors his entire life. It was his birthright as the second-born of the Matsu family. Although I know his soul longed to join our brothers and sisters on the front lines of the war with the Dragon, he would never abandon his duties.

When the Tsuno appeared, only my brother and a dozen of his hand-picked guards remained to oppose them.

The foul beasts cut through the ranks like a storm through reeds. Domotai stood against them longer than any man has lasted against their butchery. In the end, not even his might could stand against their numbers. And like the loathsome, filthy animals they are, they dishonored his valiant effort by stealing him away rather than giving him the honorable death his actions demanded.

Already I have ordered the withdrawal of our troops from the conflict with the Dragon, leaving an honor guard of skilled troops and Lion's Pride to fulfill our obligation to the Phoenix. We will hunt the filth that has befouled our lands and killed our brethren. If my brother lives and has not fallen to corruption, we will find him and return him to a hero's welcome. If he is not, then we will inter his remains within the Hall of Ancestors he died defending. And if we find that he is corruptedÉ you know what you must do, my brothers.

I will not rest until I have killed every Tsuno that dared to touch our sacred temples and dump their unclean corpses in the sun to rot.

To arms, my Lion kinsmen. The Tsuno must be purged from the face of the earth.

This is no longer merely a war.

This is a matter of honor.

Woe to the Tsuno, who had the folly to insult the Lion in their den. Show no mercy, my brothers and sisters.
