Crab Clan Letter - #19

I am Hida Kuon.

My grandfather was the Great Bear whose sacrifice revealed Fu Leng's plans to destroy the Empire.

My father was Hida Yasamura who gave his life for the Empire at the Battle of Drowned Honor.

My mother was Hida O-Ushi whose death galvanized our clan against the Crane invaders.

My brother was Hida Kuroda who perished beneath the Kaiu Wall so that others could live.

All Crabs can claim such a lineage of death and sacrifice. Many of us died in these past few months, and no words could give you back what we lost. But those of us who survive are stronger for our trials, and the voices of our dead sing in our souls. They cry for vengeance, for justice.

We will bring it to them.

There are those who think that I am too brash to lead the Crab.

To them I say this: you are wrong.

There are many who think the Crab Clan is defeated.

To them I say this: you are fools.

Six towers of the Kaiu Wall are wreathed in shadow. Demons and Tainted samurai laugh at us from our own battlements.

To them I say this: prepare to die.

Hida Kuon
Champion of the Crab
