Unicorn Clan Letter - #20

My Khan,

May the Blessings of the Shi-Tien Yen-Wang be upon you.

My name is Moto Tsusung, and I have the honor of tending one of the many new shrines to the Lords of Death that you ordered to be constructed throughout the lands of the Unicorn. Though I admit I was surprised at the commands at first I have discovered that these obscure Moto gods are indeed quite powerful, wise, and quick to respond to my humble summons. It seems that they are quite eager to make up for the pain that they have caused our clan in the past, and almost enthusiastic about the fact that our clan worships them once more. Though their rather foreboding name dissuades many potential worshippers, many young Unicorn are quite curious about these new minor Fortunes and attend the shrine frequently.

Of course this is not the point of this letter; I realize that religious matters are not your concern. The news I bring you now is not of the shrine - but of the Heavens. With their recent addition to the Rokugani pantheon, the Lords of Death have now ascended to an area of Yomi within sight of the Celestial Heavens. It is from there that they witnessed a sight most disturbing. A dark force moved into the heavens, accompanied by a band of terrible demons. The legendary Okura, who guards the gates of the Heavens, could no more stand against it than a sapling could stand against a mighty hurricane. The Lords of Death moved quickly to rescue Okura before she could be slain, but they could not stand against the invaders.

If what the Lords of Death claim is true, then our future is most dire indeed.

Fu Leng, the Dark Kami, has broken down the gates of the Heavens. He has invaded the most holy of Realms.

I do not know what we can do, if anything. If you require me to commune with the Shi-Tien Yen-Wang again regarding this matter, I would be eager to do so.

Moto Tsusung
