The Imperial City is no more.
After a brutal attack by Daigotsu and his Shadowlands Horde, the capital of the Empire lies in ruins. Angered by the dark stain that now covers the city, the Champion of the Lion orders Otosan Uchi evacuated and destroyed. With a heavy heart, the samurai of the Lion do what they know must be done.
As the city burns, some wonder whether Daigotsu's attack served a purpose other than pure carnage. With no capital to unite them, the Four Winds have each settled in a distant corner of the Empire, and from there each has declared their intent to take Toturi's throne. How can peace be reached when there is such distance between the Winds?
And in the Celestial Heavens, the true aim of the Horde's attack has become known. The spirit of Fu Leng, the dark god of the Shadowlands, has been released. With an army of demons he lays siege to the Celestial Heavens. Win or lose, the balance of the Spirit Realms will forever be shattered
