Gifts of the Oracles
Since the dawn of the Empire, the Oracles of Light have watched the Empire, guided its destiny. Though they have always been cautious not to aid the people of Rokugan too much, occasionally they have unwittingly tipped the balance between good and evil. During the time of the Four Winds, an Oracle took the throne of Rokugan and destroyed this balance altogether. Only now has stability returned.
With this painful lesson learned, the Oracles of Light have decided to retreat from the mortal world for a time, and to watch the people of Rokugan from afar. Only the least of their number, the Oracle of Jade, will remain among the people. The others - Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Void, and Thunder, will return to the Celestial Heavens. But before they leave, each Oracle has a gift for the Empire - enchanted items that bear the power of an Elemental Dragon. Each Oracle poses a quest to the heroes of Rokugan, and whoever can complete this quest shall gain one of these items. The winning faction of each of the following six tournaments will triumph in the respective quest and claim one of these nemuranai for their clan.
