A Hero's Legacy
The great Hero Shinsei said that fortune favors
the mortal man, and time and time again his words have proven true.
The children of the Sun and Moon may have founded the Empire, but
mortal hands have guided it in the centuries since. With conviction
and determination, the soul of a single hero can shape the course
of an entire world. One such hero was Hida Osano-Wo, the mortal
child of the Kami Hida and the Dragon of Thunder. Despite the power
bestowed by his unique parentage, it was Osano-Wo's mortal soul
that gave him his legendary strength. He led the Crab Clan to greatness,
inspired the Mantis Clan, and crushed the wretched Troll Empire
with his peerless armies. When an honorless assassin slew him, he
ascended into Tengoku as the Fortune of Thunder. More so than any
other Fortune, the Thunderer still pays close attention to the deeds
of mortals.
Just as in the dark, early days of history, Rokugan faces dangerous
times. The Dark Lord grows stronger with each passing day as the
Great Clans war with one another. It is a time for courage, a time
for valor, a time for heroes. One hero shall rise from the ranks
of a GreatClan and leave a mark upon the world, establishing a legacy
that shall live on long past his ir her death. One hero shall recieve
Osano-Wo's blessing and remind the Empire what the thunder of a
hero's soul can accomplish in the mortal world.
