The lives of individuals are meaningless, unless they can be given meaning by a being or purpose greater than themselves. You understand this as we do, and thus we respect you.
We have considered your offer of an alliance, and found it to our liking. While we find it incredible that you were even aware of our existence, this only adds to our admiration. We believe that with your knowledge of Imperial politics and subterfuge, and our magic and resources, together we can dominate this Empire and forge it into a weapon we can use to conquer all the nations of the world. All the weapons we require are here - unquestioning respect for authority, blind adherence to tradition, mindless obedience to roughly defined concepts such as honor, and a suspicion for anything that does not fit their narrow vision of normality. The people of Rokugan see these traits as strengths, which only further works to our advantage.
Inform us of those that pose the greatest threats to your plans, and we shall eliminate them or coerce them into obedience. The only dangers we foresee are from the unpredictable Shadowlands in the southwest and from those among our own race who do not agree with our philosophies. Only one such rogue Ashalan is known to make his home in your Empire, and already we have put plans into motion to remove Hojyn before he proves disruptive.
