CONVERGENCE OF POWERS

The Khan of the Unicorn Clan, Moto Chagatai, has sworn to take the Imperial City and with it, the throne. The Lion Clan have sworn to stop him, no matter the cost. As the Khan grows ever nearer, the Lion prepare for one final stand against him and his mighty army. The Crane armies hold the front line against the Dragon to exploit their maneuver. The Dragon are ready, and three armies stand poised on the outskirts of Toshi Ranbo.

Meanwhile, the Keeper of the Five Rings continues his mysterious quest for the heir of Shinsei, desperate to save the Empire from a pattern of self-destruction. Only now he and his fellow Keepers are not alone, for the mad monkn known as Kokujin has learned of his quest, and should he find the heir first, the world will know certain doom.

The Unicorn

After a brutal winter campaign the Khan stands on the brink of achieving his goal: reaching the Imperial City and seizing the throne. Only the Lion stand against him, thwarting his advances again and again. With the last winter snows melting, the whole of the Lion army can move against him, and Moto Chagatai knows that time is short. What his enemies do not suspect is that he has waited for exactly this moment to unveil the final step in his plan, one that will bring an Empire to its knees and place a Khan upon its throne.

"The Empire cannot thrive without order. If others are unwilling to create peace, then I shall." - Moto Chagatai

The Dragon

For months the Dragon have huddled in their mountains, forced to abandon their war with the Crane due to the harsh winter conditions and their own battle against starvation. Only through the charity of the Unicorn Clan have they survived, and now they see what price the survival brings: the Khan marches on the Imperial City, and the Dragon must stand aside. Can the clan of mysteries bear to allow such a thing to happen? Or will the guiding hands of Mirumoto Kei and Mirumoto Mareshi dictate that honor cannot be sacrificed in such a manner?

"Honor cannot be traded, not can debts be ignored" - Hoshi Kaelung

The Spider

The clans tear at one another's throats, and the Dark Lord Daigotsu only laughs at their folly. After centuries of attempting to overwhelm their foes with force, the Lost have hidden within the Empire, watching as their enemies teeter on the brink of destruction. Where force has failed, subtlety shall prevail. Whether a whispered suggestion in the ear of the weak or a beneficial offer made to the ambitious, the Spider Clan shall tempt the will of samurai. One by one, the weak and the wicked shall succumb to temptation, and Rokugan will be strangled in a web of deceit.

"The clans traffic in betrayal, and we shall supply the blades they plunge into one another's backs." - Daigotsu
